Face it, you’re going to have to start making videos sooner rather than later.
You’ve been hiding in the background for a long time just hoping that this online video nonsense would just blow over and you’d never need to make a video.
It’s not gonna happen, cap’n. Video is here to stay. And now, more than ever, streaming video is THE place to be online.
Facebook has just begun to tap into their huge treasure chest of resources to grow their video platform. They want to make video a huge part of the Facebook experience and rightfully so.
Right now, people love to watch videos. They’re captivated, even on small screens.
You should be taking advantage of that fact EVERY DAY.
I’m committed to hosting at least one Facebook Live stream per week this year for a number of reasons.
Reason #1: Engagement
If you want to get some folks fired up about your product or business, get them to a video. The beautiful thing is that it doesn’t have to be a high quality video.
I know you’re watching Gary Vee and his production crew put out daily videos that look AMAZING but you don’t have to do that to be successful.
Turn on your phone, hit the “Go Live” button on Facebook, and start talking.
Instant engagement. People want to get to know YOU. It’s personal branding and personal engagement at it’s best.
Reason #2: Build Your Brand
Look, don’t just think you’re making a one-time video for Facebook Live when you do this.
You’re creating content. Leverage that stuff in every way possible.
If your content is great, it will transfer to other mediums. Save that video and put it on YouTube.
Split it up into small chunks and put it in your Snapchat & Instagram stories.
Get the audio and turn it into a podcast. Get it transcribed and create some blog posts or even an ebook.
Every time you create content, you’re building your brand. Live streaming video just makes it REALLY easy to do.
Reason #3: Maximum Exposure to a HUGE Audience
Every Facebook Live video you do is placed on your Page. Which means that once you’re done, you can boost that puppy to an even larger audience than you had before.
So what if only 100 people showed up on the live stream? Who cares?
With just a few clicks, you can have that video in front of THOUSANDS of viewers.
Facebook is a monster and it’s only getting bigger every day. Take advantage of their platform and get your content in front of a huge audience.
Reason #4: More Leads
When you start a live stream, ask people to share it. Of course, if you’re delivering a ton of value, they may do it without you asking!
As your content is shared, more people on Facebook see what you’re doing and become viewers. If your systems are in place, those viewers can become leads for your business very quickly.
One of your primary goals each and every day is to get more people to see your stuff. Yes, business is about building relationships but it’s still a numbers game.
Just because you have the greatest product in the world doesn’t mean anyone will know about it unless you tell them and get their eyeballs in front of your product. Systems are crucial to have in place to make sure as many people as possible convert from viewers to leads.
I could sit here all day and tell you the many reasons why I’m doing more live video but I won’t because both of us need to go start streaming. I talked about having systems in place to get maximum leverage from your efforts in live streaming.
