If you want to be successful in business in the current economy, you’ve got to do more than just be average and think that everything will be just fine.
Markets have changed. Customers have changed. Competition is huge and with the Internet, there’s always the chance that some kid in a garage is going to be the person that will take over your market and knock your business out.
You can’t just have a good business and make good money. You’ve got to take a stand, get ridiculous, and decide that you are going to create something that will breakthrough to new levels you didn’t think were possible.
But how do you do that? How do you create a business that will create indestructible wealth for you, your family, and possibly generations to come?
Simple. Follow these three keys to create a business that will not only stand the test of time but will bring a breakthrough to your life and the lives of others.
Key #1 – Clarify Your Vision
There’s a Scripture that says something like, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” In normal language, that means that if you don’t have a specific, clear direction and focus for your business, you have no hope of accomplishing anything worthwhile. Oh sure, you may make some money and you might have a few customers but you’re never going to build something that will be wildly successful and that people will talk about for years to come. Get clarity for your vision.
Suspend your disbelief a little and see yourself being in a better place than where you are right now without justifying your current position. You weren’t always meant to be in the place you are now and you certainly don’t have to be there tomorrow.
You must begin to see a clear vision of where you want to be, who you want to be, and how you want to be known. Once you get a clear vision of the future and where you can be, you’re on the way to a breakthrough in your business.
Key #2 – Live Beyond the Expectations of Others
For much of my own life, I was stuck living up to the expectations of others and what I thought they wanted me to be and what they wanted me to do. I spent so much time living a life that I didn’t want to live because I thought it was what I was “supposed” to do.
Until I made a determination that I was going to live up to only one person’s expectations of myself: me. I decided that no one had the right to tell me what I should be expected to do and the goals I should have for my life other than me.
There is universal power in letting go of worrying about what others think about you and what they expect of you. You should only live up to the incredible expectations you put on yourself.
Stop listening to people that tell you to just “be content” or “stop working so hard” and just enjoy life. Grant Cardone says that you need to “feed the beast” or your obsessions and the reason that you haven’t been successful is that you’re too busy not being obsessed about your obsessions! Get obsessed about your own expectations of yourself and start living beyond your potential!
Key #3 – Serve Your Audience
If you really want to be wildly successful, you have to completely overdeliver and provide so much value to the audience you are serving that you can’t help but fall head-first into a pile of success bags. Find out what it is that your audience or market is craving and service that need.
Get more eyeballs in front of your products and tell them how much they need your stuff to help them meet the aching need they have. If you’re not promoting your products then you must be ashamed of them.
If you are serving a need and you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that what you have created is absolutely the best product for your market, you should be talking about it all the time.
Don’t be ashamed to sell. Selling is what brings in the cash and if you are serving your market, your business breakthrough is just around the corner.
What do you think of these three keys? Do you think that if you implement them in your business you will have the breakthrough you’ve been looking for?
